daughter's dresser redo
01/18/2020-01/20/2020

A good friend of mine bought a home that included some furniture. She knows I love a good project and kindly offered a couple pieces to me.

The dresser needed a little update. I painted with a Annie Sloan paint to make a quick, cute change.

old soda crate/ottoman
04/13/2018

I found this cute old soda crate while antiquing.

I filled it up with foam. I bought a kantha pillow cover from one of our favorite Illinois shops, stuffed a pillow insert inside then placed that on top of the foam.

I placed in our kitchen nook seating area. Love love love.

curbside chairs/dining room chairs
01/04/2014-01/10/2014

Two chairs were put out for the trash from my neighbor. I quickly picked them up, figuring I would make another bench. I decided to just update them to use in my dining room.

I cut up some old blue jeans and stitched them together for the seat cushions. Painted them 2 different colors to determine which I liked better. Decided I liked them different colors. Added some cut strips of fabric to the backs for fun.

sideboard refurbish
09/10/2010-09/30/2010

Once we moved into our home in FL the layout of the house would not allow me to put the sideboard in the dining room. At that point I decided it was time for a change in color and design.

Once I started sanding, I fell in love with the lighter wood. I used ebony stain, but blocked off part of sideboard with tape to keep a little of the light wood showing.

refurbish:mantel and surround
08/10/2018-08/16/2018

A very sweet friend had this sitting in her basement just waiting for a new home. This was my opportunity to make a mantel/surround headboard.

I chose a beautiful coral chalk paint, for a little pop of color.

To the backside, I added a piece of wood covered in batting and a cool aqua batik print throw I found at antique festival.

refurbish:antique nightstand/end table
03/25/2008 and 05/22/2015

Years ago my mother gave me this antique table. I sanded one and painted it with dots to go in my daughters room when she was younger.

When she got a bit older and we changed her room, we decided to repaint the grey/blue to match current colors.

refurbish: a friend's antique chest
10/10/2014-10/24/2014

A friend asked me to refurbish an antique chest. (missing photo of original).

I stripped it and sanded it lightly, then stained it a cherry finish to match her existing furniture.

adorable little cabinet
07/10/2016-07/14/2016

One of my friends gave me this piece from her garage sale before she moved away.

It is one of my faves because I think of her when I see it and also because I love the color combination.
